Our Classes

  • Ready to take your dancer or cheerleader’s skills to the next level?
    Our Acro training program combines strength, flexibility and fun to help your child grow. Whether they’re just starting out or looking to sharpen their technique, our classes offer a supportive environment to thrive.

    What they Learn:
    -Control and Balance.
    -Fundamental Acro skills: Cartwheels, Bridges, handstands, headstands, walkovers and more.
    - Strength and Flexibility drills to support a strong acro journey.
    - Teamwork, trust and communication with peers and staff.
    - Safe spotting techniques and injury prevention practices.

  • Students will learn the traditional form of dance that trains the body and the mind. They will develop flexibility, strength, control, coordination, line and musicality. Ballet is the foundation of all styles of dance and a must for any aspiring dancer!

  • Here at Mj’s House of Dance we cater to our more serious and experienced dancers by focusing on their strengths and individuality.

    Our competition students will be able to improve their current dance technique, as well as learn many new skills and tricks every week. Our goal is to improve each student by highlighting their successes, growing their confidence and always being a positive influence in their dance journey. Our competition students have their own classes, special workshops and trips, and attend 4-5 competitions per season. Our competition dancers are required to attend 3 local dance conventions per season, to take classes with talented new teachers and be inspired by each other’s company and friendship.

    Our Dancers are given opportunities beyond local and National Dance competitions. With the support and guidance of MJ and her staff, our students can be found modeling for Glamour Costumes and Tiger Friday, performing in front of the camera for television and movies, and dancing at the Elite Joffrey School.

    MJ’s House of Dance Company Dancers are offered real-world job training which includes how to audition successfully, how to prepare a résumé, and yearly headshots.

  • Our Hip Hop classes explore multiple styles of the culture, and the most up-to-date movement and styles! Our students will learn everything from old school to new school! Every hip hop class here is a dance party for the mind and body!

  • Dancers are introduced to basic movement and dance vocabulary, as well as learning to share, use patience, and utilize their memory skills. Props, musical instruments, and acro mats time is also included. A perfect start for 2-3 year olds!

  • Students will learn ballet-based technique (turns, leaps, jumps) while learning to put them together in exciting, energetic combinations. Students will get to experience traditional jazz (Broadway, Fosse, Giordano) to Contemporary style jazz

  • This class blends the beauty and fluidity of lyrical dance with the grounded, expressive movement of contemporary. Dancers will explore a technique that combines the grace of ballet, the strength of jazz, and the innovative, athletic qualities of contemporary. The focus is on strength, alignment, balance, extension, musicality, and emotional expression.

    Choreography in this class draws from both styles—using lyrics, mood, and storytelling—while also encouraging abstract movement, dynamic changes, and personal interpretation. Classes include a structured warm-up, strengthening and flexibility work, improvisation, and choreography-based training designed to help dancers connect movement with emotion and artistry.

  • Lights, Camera, DANCE!

    We’re excited to announce our Musical Theater Dance Class, where we bring Broadway to life with every step!

    What They Learn:
    -Iconic Musical Theater Choreography
    -Broadway Style Jazz technique
    -Character work and emotional expression through movement
    -Perfecting stage presence and performance skills
    -How to combine dance with storytelling and vocals

  • Dancers will learn the exciting movement to both ballet and tap in this class! In this creative, fun atmosphere, dancers will begin to master the skills they learn from week to week, building a strong sense of pride and understanding. This class is for ages 3-6 years.

  • Our Tap classes focus on all the different styles of tap. Students can experience a range from the always-entertaining Broadway style, to the modern-day style of hoofing.
